💎 How to Navigate a Chapter on Usmle2Gems.com

(Scroll, Zoom & Fix Loading Issues)

This quick guide will help you get the best viewing experience when using any chapter on Usmle2Gems.com — whether you're on desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone.

⏳ Wait for the Chapter to Load

Once you click on a chapter, give it a few seconds to fully load — especially if you're using mobile data or slower Wi-Fi. A blank screen at first is normal during loading.

🖱 Navigating on Desktop or Laptop

  • Avoid clicking the outer gray edge or the “Open in Drive” icon — it’s disabled and won’t respond.

  • Left-click once inside the visible chapter area (anywhere within the content preview).

  • After that, you can use your keyboard arrow keys (↑ ↓) to scroll through the content easily.

  • You may also use your mouse scroll wheel if preferred.

📱 Navigating on Mobile or Tablet

  • Use your finger to scroll inside the content, not the surrounding margins.

  • The white space around the content is not part of the chapter — you can touch and slide those areas to adjust the visible position for better readability.

🔍 Zooming In & Out

On Desktop:

Use the built-in toolbar at the bottom of the PDF viewer:

  • ➕ Zoom In

  • ➖ Zoom Out

  • Reset to fit screen

On Mobile:

Use standard gestures:

  • Pinch-out to zoom in.

  • Pinch-in to zoom out.

  • You can also use two-finger or three-finger scrolling motions depending on your device.

⚠️ If a Chapter Doesn’t Load

Try these solutions if you experience blank pages or slow rendering:

  • Refresh the page and/or re-login to your account.

  • Wait 10–30 seconds to allow the chapter to fully render.

  • Try switching to a different browser, such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. For example, if you're currently using Safari, try Chrome, Edge, or Firefox instead.

  • Make sure you are using a stable internet connection.

  • On mobile, avoid multitasking while loading a chapter.

  • If you’re in a region with restricted access, using a VPN may help.

  • If you see a Google Drive error message and none of the above solutions work, please wait a few hours — it's likely a temporary technical issue with the drive service (rarely needed but usually resolves on its own).
